On Saturday, May 19 2012 the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Sacramento, in partnership with the American Society of Landscape Architects – Sierra Chapter, will be hosting a volunteer service day to install landscaping improvements outside the WEAVE Headquarters building at 1900 K Street in Midtown Sacramento. This community service event will bring together volunteers and sponsors from ULI, ASLA, UC Davis, WEAVE, and regional businesses to transform the planting along the face of the building on 19th and K Streets.
This event was created as a way to recognize and support the tireless efforts of WEAVE toward ending and preventing domestic violence and sexual assault in our community. We encourage all interested parties to join us in supporting this worthwhile organization.
The volunteer day is being coordinated by members of the ULI Young Leaders Group and the ASLA Sierra Chapter Emerging Professionals Group.
WEAVE is the primary provider of crisis intervention services for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in Sacramento County.
It is WEAVE’s mission to bring an end to domestic violence and sexual assault in partnership with our community. WEAVE’s vision is a community free of violence and abuse. At WEAVE we believe that crisis intervention services are only part of the solution.
Prevention and Education are critical in improving how our community responds to violence. WEAVE is committed to breaking the cycle of violence by educating the community to better understand the issues of domestic violence and sexual assault.
