The ASLA CA Sierra Chapter’s Emerging Professionals Group (EPG) is committed to bridging the gap between established and emerging professionals in the field of landscape architecture. As a group, we seek to:

LARE Study Resources

Part of EPG’s mission includes assisting emerging professionals taking the Landscape Architecture Registration Exam (LARE) by providing lectures, workshops, and study resources. Please see our LARE Resource Guide for more information on how to register for the exam and a list of general and local study resources.

If you are a member of the ASLA Sierra Chapter and have signed up to take a section of the LARE, EPG will purchase a LAREPrep Practice Exam for you! All you need to do is contact us, epg@asla-sierra.org, with a copy/screenshot of your registration confirmation and tell us which section of the LARE you are taking. We’ll email back a practice exam to help you study.

In addition to the practice exams, we’ll happily pair you with a study buddy, as well as provide you with study material created by previous LARE test takers.

EPG also has a library of textbooks that you can check out while you’re studying. Access the Library Catalog Here. Please note, this catalog has not been updated to reflect the New LARE Blueprint of recommended readings, but the content is still helpful.

If you are young, young at heart, or have less than 10 years of experience in the profession, then we encourage you to contact us or attend one of our events. New members are always welcome!

Social Events

We believe it’s important for emerging professionals to have a social network of others in our industry going through the same challenges as you. To promote a healthy community environment we often hold social events for the EPG members of the Sierra Chapter to help us blow off steam and get to know one another.
